Evelyn Cecia Salgado Pineda, nació el 5 de febrero de 1982, en Iguala, Guerrero; es la mayor de las hijas del senador, Félix Salgado Macedonio, el “Toro”, y María de Jesús Pineda.

Tiene 39 años de edad y se licenció en Derecho.

De 2005 a 2008 encabezó el Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de las Familias (DIF) de Acapulco, cuando su padre fue alcalde de esa localidad.
En 2011 fue nombrada jefa de departamento de la Secretaría de la Mujer con la ayuda de Jorge Silverio Salgado, quien fuera ex secretario de finanzas de Guerrero.

En 2012 buscó participar en sus primeras elecciones, y fue precandidata del PRD por el distrito tres a una diputación local en el Congreso de Guerrero.
Evelyn Salgado Pineda fue designada como candidata de Morena al Gobierno de Guerrero, en las encuestas resultó la mejor posicionada, por encima de la senadora Nestora Salgado y María de la Luz Ñunez.

El Instituto Electoral y de Participación Ciudadana (IEPC) entregó la constancia de mayoría y validez de la elección que acredita como gobernadora electa de Guerrero a Evelyn Salgado Pineda.

Tras el conteo distrital, Evelyn Salgado, candidata de Morena, obtuvo 643 mil 814 votos, mientras que el abanderado del PRI-PRD, Mario Moreno Arcos, 580 mil 971. La diferencia fue de 62 mil 137 votos.

Dato histórico para la política guerrerense porque será la primera gobernadora del estado de Guerrero.
